I know, I can't believe it either. All the leaves are off the tree, cornfields are bare, Thanksgiving is over, and yes, tomorrow is December 1st. Where has the time gone? Even though the air has turned colder and winter hastens, there is good news, Christmas is approach- ing. As I drive around the neighborhood I am beginning to see the Christmas lights going up, the radio stations are playing the carols of the season, and we at the Adamstown Inns and Cottages are busy with our own decorating. For the past few days we have been getting in the Christmas spirit by putting up our wreaths, greens, lights, and trees inside and outside at the Amethyst Inn, the Cottages, and at the Adamstown Inn. I truly enjoy this time of year and nothing prepares me more than doing some decorating.
A number of other places throughout Lancaster County are also preparing for the Christmas season and offer lots of activities for people to enjoy this holiday season. Here are a few things going on around the Adamstown Inns and Cottages; The 2009 Christmas Show: Through January 3 at the American Music Theatre in Lancaster. This year’s all new show featuring Christmas Around the World, a Journey to Toyland, and much more will make this a season you’ll never forget!
Another seasonal treat is an Amish Family Christmas: Through December 23 at the Freedom Chapel Dinner Theatre in Christiana. Rachel and Jacob are expecting their first child near Christmas and many changes have occurred in the family. What new surprises are in store for the King family this holiday season?
Also Winterfest in Mount Joy: December 5 in Downtown Mount Joy. Tree lighting, complete with community caroling, is the finale for this activity-filled event. Visit the live reindeer; pictures with Santa; games, coloring contest & special Little Shoppers for kids; enjoy the music groups that perform and delicious food by local restaurants!
