Fourth of July in Lancaster County

Want to get out and have an exciting Fourth of July, but aren’t quite sure where to go or what to do? Lancaster County has many opportunities to celebrate and relax. Conveniently, Adamstown Inns & Cottages is centrally located to many celebrations.

Start your weekend on Friday in Downtown Lancaster at First Fridays, their monthly celebration of the arts. There are new exhibitions and performances, as well as spontaneous creativity. Hundreds of art enthusiasts attend this event, which is sure to be interesting to all.

If you’re more into shopping than art, head over to the Rockvale Outlets for their sidewalk sale. There will be plenty of bargains, so hopefully you’ll score some great deals!

For a more traditional celebration, join the Lititz Lion’s Club as they host the 193rd Independence Day Celebration. On Friday night, starting at 6:30, enjoy the parade followed by Flamin’ Dick and the Hot Rods. Saturday has activities starting at 11 am such as a baby parade, a 3-legged race, musical performances, and fireworks at 10 pm.

On the Fourth of July, join the 257th Army Band to hear the “Band of the Nation’s Capital”. There will also be a cannon brigade and fireworks. This event starts at 7:30pm and is located at Long’s Park in Lancaster.

The last adventure of the weekend is to visit Longwood Gardens for their fireworks and fountains display. The beautiful gardens are always a treat, but there will also be fireworks and fountains dancing to festive music. It is easy to spend an entire evening at Longwood Gardens, but make sure you reserve your seat for the firework show that stars at 9:15 pm.

The Fourth of July weekend can surely be a busy one, but no doubt lots of fun! Start making your plans today, as Amethyst Inn Bed and Breakfast only has a few more rooms left.
