Lancaster, PA is Pet Friendly

Pet Friendly Cabin in Wrightsville, Lancaster PA
Dogs, more than ever, are taking their role as “man’s best friend” very seriously. Pets are viewed as members of the family, so its obvious that they do not get left behind during vacations. Taking pets on vacation will save money on boarding costs and relieve you of concern over how your dog is being treated. However, more research is required to find pet friendly hotels and activities that allow dogs. Within minutes of Internet research, you’ll find that a Lancaster PA bed and breakfast, The Adamstown Inns & Cottages, is pet friendly. With the accommodations of a pet friendly vacation rental, you'll have the freedom to do activities with or without your dog.

If you’re looking for a place to let your dog exercise, you could take it to the Buchanan Dog Park in Lancaster. They have a small fenced in area where you’re allowed to let your dog loose. Certain attractions permit dogs, especially in Amish Country, PA. Abe’s Buggy Rides and The Amish Farm and House both allow dogs on the premises. Even Kitchen Kettle Village welcomes dogs, as long as they are on a leash, and they can even join you on a carriage ride! Of course there are always plenty of hiking trails and lakes where pets are free to enjoy themselves! Not sure what to do for dinner? If you don’t feel like eating in, as most people choose not to when they are on vacation, then Boehringer’s Drive In is right down the road from Adamstown Vacation Home and has outdoor picnic tables. In addition to their wonderful homemade ice cream, they serve a variety of fast food sandwiches and fries. Even if you don’t have a dog, I recommend stopping by for lunch one day!

Adamstown Inns & Cottages has 3 facilities that can accommodate a pet friendly vacation. The Firefly Cottage and the Dragonfly Cottage both have 2 bedrooms, which is comfortable for a small family. The Adamstown Vacation Home has 5 bedrooms and is perfect for extended families or friends. Check out the websites for more specific information about amenities and rates. All three of the houses are pet-friendly and accept well behaved, housebroken dogs. A security deposit of $50 per dog is required and the dogs may not be left unattended in the cottage. We do have crates available upon request.

Previous families who have traveled with their dogs have appreciated the beautiful accommodations of the inn and the ability to bring their “best friend” along with them. After all, it’s really not a family vacation, if the entire family isn’t present! While there are both pros and cons to vacationing with your pet; as long as you do your research, the whole family will have a great time! Be sure to start planning your pet friendly vacation today and let us, here at the Adamstown Inns & Cottages, know if we can assist you in your planning in any way.
