Holiday's at a Lancaster Pa Bed and Breakfast

Now that Thanksgiving has passed and the weather is cooling down, the spirit of Christmas is in the air! Lancaster Pennsylvania has festivals, decorated storefronts, and holiday tours to help you start celebrating the holidays. Spending a romantic weekend getaway at a luxurious bed and breakfast will inspire you to decorate, bake cookies, and take time to sit by the fire with a warm cup of tea. Hopefully that sounds like fun, but if you view those activities as chores, then you really do need to schedule a weekend away at Adamstown Inns & Cottages.

While you’re visiting this Lancaster PA bed and breakfast, there are plenty of activities to keep you busy. Downtown Lancaster has new holiday tours where you can see decorated window displays and the tree in Penn Square while gliding on a Segway. Never been on a Segway before? Don’t worry, you’re given a mini lesson, and in no time you’ll be gliding down the streets!

If you’d rather celebrate on steady ground, then try visiting the Mount Joy Winterfest. On Friday December 4th from 4-7 pm enjoy caroling, live reindeer, a tree lighting, music, and food from local restaurants. Other events taking place on the weekend of December 4 and the 11th include the Country Christmas Village at Landis Valley Museum. Learn about Pennsylvania German Christmas traditions while enjoying food and the historic buildings. On Friday December 17 the museum is hosting a bonfire with carols and hot cider to celebrate a PA Dutch Christmas.

One of the more well known holiday attractions is Hershey Park. This year their decorations include a Candy Cottage that stands 13 feet tall and occupies more than 100 square feet. Be sure to visit the chocolate tour ride and even take a tour through the town on a trolley!

Lancaster PA has many celebrations during the holiday season, but these are just a few ideas to help you get in the Christmas spirit. If we don’t see you this December, the staff wishes you a very Merry Christmas!
