Sundays in Adamstown, PA

Now it’s time to wrap up an ideal vacation by spending Sunday in Adamstown, PA. Once again, choosing a luxury “home base” during your travels will give you the energy to see many great attractions. The Adamstown Inns & Cottages, a Lancaster Pennsylvania bed and breakfast has both romantic getaway suites and a family friendly vacation rental. Spending your last day of vacation in Adamstown will give your legs plenty of walking time before your drive home.

Your day will begin bright and early with a hearty breakfast at the inn before venturing into Antiques Capital USA. Adamstown will overwhelm you with abundant options of antique shops and flea markets. You’ll quickly become intrigued with the treasures and retro memorabilia. If you happen to be visiting during the Spring Extravaganza, April 28-May 1, you will find sales, and shops with extended hours.

Don’t forget to take a break for lunch! Boehringer’s Drive-In is popular for it’s Pennsylvania Dutch root beer and homemade ice cream. After ordering your food and a short wait, you take your food to outdoor picnic tables where you can watch ducks splash around in the creek below. And please, don’t skip on the homemade ice cream!

Stoudt’s is one place you do not want to miss. In addition to the antiques, they also have a Wonderful Good Market where you can buy artisanal cheeses and breads. Those cheeses go great with local lagers and ales from the brewery. After taking a tour and sampling specialty beers you can even try your hand at making craft beers. Don’t forget to stop for dinner in the restaurant and grab some beer to go.

If you’re not ready for dinner at Stoudt’s, then just meander through the antiques mall before trying one of the many restaurants in Adamstown. The Black Horse is a popular restaurant that offers creative cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. The last time I was there, the lobster risotto was superb!

Unfortunately your weekend getaway must come to an end, but with so many attractions, you’ll start planning your next vacation! The innkeepers at the Amethyst Inn, a Lancaster pa bed and breakfast, look forward to hosting your getaway and making your weekend special.
