Music in the Park

Pennsylvania summer evenings are cool and perfect for relaxing at parks and listening to music. Both Lancaster and Berks County are currently hosting their Music in the Park Summer Concert Series. After a busy weekend of antiquing in Adamstown, or hiking on the many nearby trails of the Amethyst Inn, you’ll be ready for a soothing evening of music. Many parks are located near this Lancaster pa bed and breakfast, so you’ll have options to enjoy the summer weather when you’re not lounging in your luxury suite.

Long’s Park, in Lancaster County, has been hosting free music at the park for 49 years. This summer they have an assortment of music from bluegrass, Southern rock, country, and Celtic.
This Sunday, in celebration of the 4th of July, the “Band of the Nation’s Capital” will present a patriotic concert, followed by fireworks.

All the concerts begin at 7:30pm, but feel free to spend the day at the park, and even have a picnic dinner. With 80 acres of land, you’ll find plenty of picnic tables, and walking trails. There is even a petting farm, lake, and tennis courts!

Gring's Mill Amphitheater, in Wyomissing, hosts the Berks County park music series. They also feature an eclectic assortment of bands who perform big band, polka, country, and Southern rock. On Sunday August 7th, you’ll even be able to put on your dancing shoes for their “Dancing Under the Stars” Concert Event. Louise Lamar and her dance students will lead swing and Latin dance steps.

Gring’s Mill also has the recreation facilities to spend an afternoon at the park. They have tennis courts, a softball and volleyball area, horseshoes, shuffleboard, and more. Whether you’re vacationing with the family, or on a romantic weekend getaway, an evening of music in the park will be an enjoyable treat for everyone. The kids will enjoy the fun music and the playgrounds, while your partner just might ask you to dance under the setting sun!
