Spring Shows in Lancaster, PA

Spring is quickly approaching on the calendar, but thankfully we’ve already experienced a few warm and sunny days. It’s time to start thinking about gardening and flowers, and adding color to the porches at Adamstown Inns & Cottages. The new season allows us to redecorate and spend more time outside, but Lancaster County has us covered with plenty of theatres to visit if we’re having a rainy day!

Sight & Sound Theatre: The adventure of Jonah began this month, and it’s a show that you will not want to miss. I can guarantee they will make you feel like you’re underwater and in the belly of a whale during the show. I’ve never been disappointed by their performances. The acting, lighting, costumes, real animals, and special effects are top notch and bring the story to life. If you have time, the Behind the Scenes Tour is mind-blowing!

American Music Theatre: From oldies to country, and comedy to celebrities, this stage is always filled with big talent.

Dutch Apple Dinner Theatre: With dinner and a show, the cast of “9 to 5” will have you laughing at this work related comedy.

Rainbow Dinner Theatre: This comedy follows a group of women who were on the same swim team in college and get together once a year to catch up on each others’ lives!

Fulton Theatre: The Tony Award winner, Sunset Boulevard, follows the struggles of a Hollywood screen writer, featuring music from Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Ephrata Main Theatre: This is the perfect place to go after having dinner at Lily’s on Main, in Ephrata. They are currently showing popular movies, but will have a few concerts beginning in April.

As you can see, there are many options to enjoy a theatrical production on a rainy day or on a warm evening. After a show, enjoy ice cream at Boehringer’s Drive In. Oh and don’t forget to visit your local Rita’s Italian Ice on March 20, for free ice. Happy Spring!
