Berks County: Part 1

This summer you can split your time between Lancaster and Berks Counties. Reading has many activities planned at Penn Corridor, and around town. Whether you have the whole family, your girlfriends, or your significant other with you, there’s plenty to explore. Check Penn Corridors schedule for specifics on IMAX movies, free concerts in the park, restaurant deals, and other events. Here’s information on a few that you won’t want to miss.
Reading has started a  First Thursday celebration, many of the shops in West Reading will have extended hours, including Art Plus Gallery.  Restaurant specials include steak night at Judy's on Cherry, and complimentary Happy Hour from 6-8pm at A Running Start.  Their Happy Hour continues throughout the entire summer, during every First Thursday even.  For entertainment, visit open mic night at Good Eatz Green Care from 7-9pm.  The Speckled Hens open mic night runs from 9pm-midnight, and they'll be having drink specials.  Don't forget to swing by Penn and 6th Avenue fro the free concert series (6-8pm).

For the kids this weekend, visit Goggleworks and enjoy craft projects, pottery, and glass blowing demonstrations.  Don't forget to stop into Ady Cakes, winner of Food Network's Cupcake Wars.  With 16 daily flavors, and 4 seasonal flavors, you'll have trouble choosing which one to try!

This is just the beginning of the summer activities in Reading PA! Check back next week for more Berks County recommendations from your innkeepers at Adamstown Inns & Cottages.
