Now that Autumn has officially arrived, it’s time for hot apple cider, sweaters, Oktoberfest beers, and fall foliage! Lancaster County has plenty to offer in celebration of the season with music, local food and beer, and German demonstrations. The weekend of October 12th is full of activities and shows to give you a break from your daily routine. Join us at the Adamstown Inns & Cottages for the following festivities!
Fall Dop Wop Cavalcade at the American Music Theater: Saturday evening October 13th, enjoy oldies tunes by Buddy Holly, Willie Winfield and the Harptones, and The Chimes and The Fireflies. For only $45 this is a show you won’t want to miss.
Landis Valley’s Harvest Days Festival: On Saturday and Sunday, October 13th and 14th, visit this event of Pennsylvania German foods and demonstrations. From 11am to 5pm, you can learn about making apple butter, blacksmiths, candle making, and log hewing. For the kids there will be a pumpkin patch, horse and carriage rides, and music.
October Microfest: From noon to 4pm on Saturday October 13th, visit Stoudt’s Brewery in Adamstown (right up the road from the bed and breakfast). You’ll be treated with music from Born Cross Eyed and Octavia while you sample beers from different breweries and food from Stoudt’s Wonderful Good Market.
2nd Sunday Flavor Fair:
On Sunday October 14th, join Downtown Lancaster in celebrating their last summertime food event of the year. In the courtyard outside of Building Character, enjoy free parking and free admission as you sample local foods of Lancaster. While you’re there, from 11am to 3pm, make sure to visit the assortment of unique shops that are located inside Building Character.
