Mt. Gretna and Lancaster County, PA

Adamstown, a quaint little antiquing town, is nearby the village of Mount Gretna. This village is boasting with character, local events, and restaurants. From arts to theatre, and food to hiking, this little town will keep you occupied with all its treasures.

The Mount Gretna Playhouse features concerts, plays, and dances until Labor Day weekend. This Saturday features the New Black Eagle Jazz Band, and later this month The Momenta Quartet will take you back to a time of Beethoven and Schubert.
For those who are intrigued by arts, paintings, pottery, woodworks, crafts, and more, you won’t

want to miss the Mount Gretna Outdoor Art Show on August 18th and 19th.  With over 285 artists, you’ll wander through worlds of photography, jewelry, metal, leather, and sculptures. And don’t be surprised if you start dancing in the streets to the live music, or laugh with the strolling entertainers. If you’re not able to visit during this weekend, then be sure to stop by The Gallery at La Cigale ®, which features all styles of work from local artists.
If you’re an outdoor enthusiast, then spend your day at Mount Gretna Lake and Beach. This family owned beach is open daily from 11am to 6:30pm for a small fee. The sandy beach, diving
platforms, volleyball field, mini golf, and kayak/canoe/tube rentals are well maintained and is a great gathering place for friends and families. If you need a break from the water, go for a hike through Governor Dick Memorial Park.

Mount Gretna also has many local eateries that add to the character of the village. The Mount Gretna Hideaway has an outside deck with live music and a wide variety of menu items. Mount

Gretna Pizzeria and the Jigger Shop Ice Cream Parlor are also popular restaurants. And for a fresh meal with a cafe feel, try the Le Sorelle Porch and Pantry. Using local ingredients, they serve breakfast and lunch daily, and have a special dinner menu on Saturdays.

After hearing all that, and seeing those delicious menus, you can’t imagine how it can get any better, right? Well it does get better because Mount Gretna offers both dinner AND entertainment at the Timbers Restaurant and Dinner Theatre! With meals such as Veal Scandinavian, Clams Casino, and Rack of Lamb you’ll be glad you went before the entertainment even begins! Dinners begin at 5:30 pm Tuesdays through Saturdays and through Labor Day the entertainment is a musical entitled “Keep on Singing”.

Make your plans to explore Mount Gretna today and be sure to tell your innkeepers at the Adamstown Inns & Cottages what you enjoyed most about your trip!
