Do you remember as a child, your all-knowing parents saying: “Do what you love and success will follow?” I embodied that mentality while achieving my A.A. in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management because I delight both in the art of savory cuisine and ensuring that people are taken care of to the absolute best of my ability.
Hailing from the beautiful shores of South Carolina, it is my pleasure to bring my own personal brand of southern hospitality to the Adamstown Inn & Cottages team! Even though I miss having grits for breakfast, I absolutely love the strong family values and old Pennsylvania Dutch heritage around Lancaster County!

Farewell to Kristin
Wednesday, June 25th was our farewell luncheon for Kristin Rathman, our innkeeper of the Amethyst Inn for over 9 years. We will truly miss her smiling face and wonderful breakfasts! She managed the bed and breakfast with style and compassion. We wish her every happiness as she starts her new life in beautiful and sunny Charleston, SC!
To celebrate the occasion, the staff went to Manna Fusion, 2359 Oregon Pike, Ste 104, Lancaster PA, 17601. Manna Fusion is savory Asian cuisine with authentic flair. There was certainly something for everyone on their menu!
We sampled a crispy chicken and vegetable tempura to start. As you can see by the empty platter, it was a huge hit!
The entrées included sushi for Katie, Liz and even Katherine. I was worried that our youngest employee would not enjoy fusion food….but she was the most adventurous!
Don has never experienced fusion food or dined
with chopsticks. He soon became an expert, rivaling Tom with his skills.
(They are always in competition.)
Kristin and I both enjoyed the zesty green curry, my favorite, while Nancy loved her tangy pineapple chicken rice. Jean, always our most health conscious employee, sipped her coconut chicken soup.
