March Madness

No, we haven't begun our own pool for the NCAA Basketball championships, but we are initiating our Lancaster County March Madness Special here at the Adamstown Inns and Cottages.  The snow is finally beginning to melt and I can actually see grass again so I know spring will be here before I know it.  I still have plenty of winter projects to complete, but I know before long I will be out in the flower beds preparing them for planting and endeavoring to keep up with caring for the grounds around the Inns and Cottages.  Since we are all excited for Spring and Summer here at the Inns we thought we would extend that excitement to you as well.
If you book a cottage or vacation home by April 1st for 5 nights you will receive one night free, or you could book for 7 nights and receive 2 nights free! (Not valid with any other specials or during holidays.)  It is not to soon to prepare for all the great things Lancaster County has to offer in the Spring and Summer.  The Mud Sales taking place throughout Lancaster County provide wonderful experience to find great deals on all kinds of items.  Along with the Mud Sales, the Antique Extravaganzas that take place beginning the last weekend in April and runs throughout various weekends in the summer also offers you the opportunity to find some great treasures of the past.

And all of this just minutes away from the Adamstown Inns and Cottages.  Not to mention Hershey Park, Dutch Wonderland, Longwood Gardens, Strasburg Railroad, VF Outlets, Tanger Outlets, Philadelphia, oh the list goes on and on.  Now perhaps you understand why we are referring to this special as March Madness.  I know it will be tough to decide what all to do while you are with us at the Inns and Cottages, while you have some time to hammer out your schedule March Madness ends April 1st.  See you soon.

Maple Grove Raceway

In just 16 short days the 25th annual Toyo Tires Nationals will take place at the Maple Grove Raceway in Mohnton, PA. On August 20-23 the National Hot Rod Association is returning to Maple Grove Raceway for another thrilling weekend of cars reaching extreme speeds, the sweet aroma of burning rubber, and the cool August sun. We've enjoyed the company of many guests who spent their nights with us and their days at the racetrack. You never know what might happen at the Maple Grove Raceway. In fact, you may even be one of the lucky few who brings home an over sized worn tire as a souvenir like our buddies from Mass- achusetts did last year. This group stayed in our Dragonfly Cottage and Firefly Cottage and really enjoyed themselves. Actually, we at the Inns are counting down those 16 days until the Conry crew stays with us again for the Toyo Tires Nationals. When the gang from Massachusetts rolls into town we always know it is August. We're looking forward to another great weekend.

More Bricks than we know what to do with

Last year we removed all the bricks from our parking lot in order to prepare renovations to our new bathroom we added to the Ruby suite. So for the past year we have put our minds to work brainstorming what we can do with all the bricks we extracted from the Amethyst Inn parking lot. Well, after not a whole lot of deliberation we began the process of creating wandering pathways throughout the properties.
A path leading to the Dragonfly Cottage and Firefly Cottage, one for Tom and Wanda's home, a path connecting Adamstown Vacation Home's yard to the cottages, and our newest pathway behind Amethyst Inn. That's a lot of bricks, you may say. Well there is plenty more where they came from and plans to add more brick walkways. So on the days that I'm not , planting, transplanting, or planting I will be digging paths and laying bricks.
As I mentioned, the newest pathway behind Amethyst Inn also provided us with the opportunity to place another bed in Amethyst's back yard. This gave Wanda the chance to buy various trees, shrubs, and flowers to place in the newest of our many gardens. Adding the brick walks to the grounds usually avails itself to creating new beds to be planted with the many flowers Wanda and Kristin love to buy at the flower auction in Terre Hill-Weaverland Auction. All the hard work pays off when you can enjoy the beauty of all the flowering plants and the warm summer breeze.
